Giving God Your Time

Writer: Olivia GraceOlivia Grace

An artist's best work is done when he takes his time. Likewise, allow God to take His time in building you.

Surrender the time it takes to heal your anxieties, your doubts, and fears. Give Him time to work in you through that.

Let there be no pressure to be free from pain quickly; the Artist of all artists works most beautifully and skillfully with time.

We must remember that His time frame is not the same as ours. But since He created time for us, we must allow Him to reach us through the amount of time He has designated.

In order to let go we must accept and go with the ebb and flow of God’s timing.

Creator of time and Creator of you and I, He knows the ins and outs of perfect timing. Regardless of when we think we need something, God knows and hears you, and has something even better for you.

Personally, I am concerned about my future, but even more so I struggle with anxiety and wonder when my constant striving will cease. I cause myself to get anxious over my anxiety because I feel as if my response to the anxiety causing problems are not good enough. The stress of that turns out to be the bigger monster than the actual problem. But then I am reminded of Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God." ESV. In the NASB translation, the verse says, "Ceasing striving and know that I am God;"

While we can submit our plans to God's own timing, we should submit everything to God in His own timing. We need to cease striving to live out our own remedies and instead remember that He is God and He has a plan for us. Through your worry, hurt, pain, anxiety, and fear, allow God to pursue you during that time. Listening to God's voice amidst your uncomfortable moments creates a space for growth and trust.

The heart of not trusting God with your future or relationships is fear and doubt. Submit your fear and doubt at His feet, cease striving, and know that He is God.
