My Confidence in Jesus

How are you so confident in your faith for Jesus? This question came to mind soon after a girl I barely knew asked me this question: "How are you so happy all the time?" The truth is, I am not happy 24/7, but I knew the joy she recognized. It was Christ alive in me. I told her that, and it probably was not the answer she was expecting, but I believe it resonated with her. Next, I came to this question: Jesus keeps you joyful, how is that so? I wanted to have a response ready if I ever were to be asked that. I wanted to share with you a brief answer to share with others, if this situation were to occur, or perhaps to remind you of the confidence we sometimes forget we have.

The difference between those who know Jesus versus those who do not would be where they place their security. We all look out for our life. We all have plans and dreams of our own. We all care about our reputations, whether we hope to look kind and loving or gruff and tough, we still care how people view us. We all feel shame when we mess up. Whether it is guilt from a sin or bitterness from a plan gone wrong, we all experience regret. When things go wrong, people do not know how to handle it. When these things fall apart that we've worked hard on our own to build up, we lose who we are. We need something more than ourselves. Someone more.

Admitting our weakness and accepting grace allows us to move on.

With Christ, I am confident in life because of eternity promised with Him.

With Christ, I am confident even when my plans go wrong, that His plans are always right.

With Christ, I am confident in who I am regardless of what people think or say; for God made me in His image, knows me, and loves me unconditionally and with no limits.

With Christ, I am confident even though I fail, sin, or mess up. My worth is not diminished because Jesus's blood covers me. I'm secure because of Jesus Christ and I walk in His grace every day.

Our hearts yearn, hurt, and cry for a reason. We become frustrated when bad things happen. We all sense a depth that nothing on earth seems to fill. We feel empty. We feel worthless. We feel defeated. We feel broken beyond repair. But the was before we knew Him.

In Christ, we are satisfied. He heals every broken heart and by His grace, restores us into right relationship with the Father. God made us to live with Him, through Jesus that is minded.

Upon the grace of God we walk in freedom. Through salvation we run with joy. By the Holy Spirit we abound in the light of Christ for all to see.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14 ESV
